Steven M. Weiss, Certified Compensation Professional, is President & Owner of The Sharon Group, Inc. He has over ten years experience supporting compensation programs in areas of base salary, incentive and bonus design, broadbanding, and salary range structure development.

Steven's specialty is "compensation technology". He leverages his considerable PC skills with new technologies to partner with clients in bringing exciting ideas to their compensation programs. Steven has extensive market pricing and job analysis experience. He has managed large market pricing databases utilizing compensation software and other computer applications. In addition, he has designed multi-user PC-based applications utilizing strong Access and Excel skills.

Steven's previous and current work experiences include the banking, insurance, mortgage, manufacturing, biotechnology, airline, and travel industries. The Sharon Group, Inc. client list ranges from Fortune 10 to other independent senior-level human resources and compensation consultants. Recent consulting assignments include designing and administering sales incentive plans, designing and producing industry-specific salary surveys, market pricing, compensation software support, and analysis of new compensation program designs.

Prior to founding The Sharon Group, Inc., Steven was Senior Compensation Analyst with The St. Paul Companies, formerly known as USF&G Corporation. He was the project leader in the customization, redesign, and implementation of the company's compensation market pricing database that was in a Microsoft Access environment. At SatoTravel, Inc., he was the primary resource for compensation issues. As Compensation Analyst for USAir, Inc., he was the lead analyst supporting company-wide development of compensation policies, practices and programs, including executive incentive and stock plans.

Steven's education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Maryland, where he majored in Finance. He is a Certified Compensation Professional as designated by the American Compensation Association and has published an article in the International Association for Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM) magazine titled "Market Pricing and the HRIS Professional". He serves as a Board Member for the Compensation & Benefits Association of San Diego and is an active member of the North County Personnel Association, Orange County Compensation and Benefits Association, and The Los Angeles Compensation and Benefits Association.
